November Dates for your Diary

Here is our rundown of the events you and your school can get involved in throughout November.

Into Film Festival

8th – 24th November 2017

The Into Film Festival is a free, annual, nationwide celebration of film & education for 5-19 year olds.

This is the world’s largest free film and education event for young people. With 3,000 free screening, across 600 venues, the event offers much opportunity to get involved in the world of film.

Featuring guest speakers from the film industry and supported by free curriculum-linked resources, we aim to help educators bring learning to life for 5-19 year olds by inspiring young people to watch and understand film in new and creative ways.”

You will find resources for the event here. To find events in your area, the festival programme is available here.

Let us know what your favourite film for children is & why on Twitter.

This is a super opportunity to tackle a unique mathematics challenge. Enter a team of 4 from your school to compete. “The children will have the unique opportunity to tackle a never-before-seen mathematical problem!”

Competition details and entry can be found here.

The first round of competition is on 8th or 9th November.

Anti-Bullying Week

13th – 17th November 2017

The Anti-Bullying Alliance holds their annual recognition week shining a spotlight on bullying.

The awareness week focuses on encouraging children, teachers, and parents to take action against bullying. The theme for 2017 is ‘All Different, All Equal’ to celebrate that each of us is individually unique. We should all be able to be ourselves without fear of bullying.

There are various ways to get involved in the week from fundraising, to awareness in your school, or simply using the campaign hashtags on social media. There is plenty of information on the Anti-Bullying Alliance website, and here is a link to their resources.

We will also have a feature blog post on bullying in primary schools later in the month, so check back in for that!
