The 13th September is the birthday of best-selling author Roald Dahl. Through his many books, works adapted for screen and stage, and his very own language, Mr Dahl has influenced and engaged many lives and his legacy continues to this day.

It is not too late to celebrate Roald Dahl Day 2017. There are many ways to join the party and celebrate at home or in school. The Roald Dahl website has a downloadable party pack to help inspire children. From story writing to quizzes, crosswords and word spotters there a number of engaging and inspiring activities available to download and print.

It may be a little too late in the day to arrange a dress up party, but it is not too late to donate to Roald Dahl’s Marvelous Children’s Charity, donations can be made here.  The registered charity “helps to make life better for seriously ill children in the UK.” If time and resources do not permit you and your class or children to celebrate the day in full, you can make a lasting impact via the Roald Dahl charity instead.
